WOW! Anermak that sawfish is incredible! Hopefully I'll have enough time to fold my one in neat before the competition ends, but it isn't as good as that one.

Well done Anermak, I tried to design a sawfish several weeks ago but I couldn't figure out a nice way to make the saw. It would be interesting to see the cp of your model.

I made a turtle that I'm quite proud of.
It's inspired by the "Traditional Turtle" found on January 21 of Jeff Cole's Easy Origami 2009 calendar, but I think I've made enough improvements to be able to call it my own.

His one starts from a square folded in half to form a triangle, and requires cutting of a flap into two flaps to form the feet.
In my version I've used a waterbomb base with a graft added horizontally through the starting square to give extra paper for the head and front flippers. Mine uses no cutting and features a nice colour change for the head and limbs.
This one was folded from 15x15cm origami paper light green on one side and dark green on the other.

Nice Dragonfish Wolf! I haven't had tme to fold a neat version f my sawfish because I've got loads of work, but I thought it mihjt be worth posting pictures of the first one to show everybody.

I used a strange structure here, which IMHO is just as interesting as the finished model, so I've posted a picture of both.

And I swear, it's still Feb 28 for three hours yet!

The Feb challenge started off slowly, but became a difficult one at the end to judge. There were some really eye-catching models, from simplistic to complex, from squares, rectangles and dollar bills, from mammals to fish to birds to reptiles and invertebrates. There were duplicates, some were difficult to pronounce, some were scary and some were cute.

Before I name my 3 favourites, I would like to thank all the participants:
I enjoyed the simpleness of Madarko’s Manta Ray.
Ondrei’s fish is so cute it should be in Walt Disney’s next movie.
Wolvrine, your Penguin has so much potential, I just wish you would fold it from better paper!
Origami78, those clams are great!
Wizmatt, good jellyfish (Floderer-style) – something we don’t see too often. I also liked your sawfish, but I think it could be improved on.
Cupcake, nice crab.
Origami_8, simple but efficient fish.
Spiritofcat had unmistakeable prawn and turtle, well done.
Snowblue, the face on the Walrus is awesome and inspiring, but the red paper doesn’t do it justice.
Second200, a strong contender with your crab, something I really enjoyed.
Andrew, nice dolphin, but it still needs some work. Thanks for the cp!

Angrydemon, your Hammerhead should have been in the finals. It is an excellent model!
Wolf, your Eurypegasus Draconis is so good, it belongs on the cover of National Geographic!

But after long deliberation, these are my picks:
In third place is Origami_Brazil. The turtle is very good, but I mainly picked you for your variety of submissions – turtle, ray, penguin, blue whale, jellyfish and polyp.

In second place is Firstfold.
That Nautilus is very creative, well folded and also a bit “outside the box”! Well done!

And the winner is Andrey Ermakov for his Sawfish.
Not only is it scary, well folded, full of detail and a good overall photo. It is a great design and the effort that had to go into that had to be immense!
Also, at a previous challenge, Andrey handed over the honours to Bluepaper, so Andrey did not judge the following challenge.
